Level 1 Coaching School Registration Extended

The deadline to pre-register for the Level 1 Coaching School on October 13th and 14th has been extended to October 1st.  This is your chance to be on your way to fulfilling the coaches education requirement of the coaches registry.  More information, including registration can be found here.


INSTRUCTORS
Katie Adams: is in her third year at Wellesley College as the throws coach after debuting the throws program in 2015-2016. Previously, she coached for six years combined at Salem and Pelham High Schools and Pinkerton Academy.  She is an USATF Level 3 / IAAF Level V coach in the throws. Adams has also completed the Level 2 programs in the sprints/hurdles/relays & youth specialization. She has coached multiple division and state champions, as well as all-state selected athletes.
 
Dave Kerin: currently serves on USATF's High Performance Committee in the role of Men's Development Chair and as Chair of Men's & Women's High Jump.  In 2016, he served as the US Men's Jumps & Multi Events Coach at the IAAF U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland. He is perhaps best known for his work, "What is the most direct means to achieve strength gains specific to the demands of jumping events" making him the first to propose and defend the primacy of eccentric strength for the jumps. Retired from collegiate coaching, his former athlete has held the NCAA Indoor & Outdoor Championships records in HJ for the past 16 years.  He continues to serve as a Coaching Education instructor, and mentor to coaches across the US and Internationally.

Joel Pearson: Director of Cross Country, Track & Field at Harrier Track Club. Previously, Joel was the Director at Cardinal Stritch University. During his time, the Wolves captured six national champions, 34 all-Americans, 42 National Qualifiers, and set an NAIA National DMR record. A USATF Level 3 / IAAF Level V Academy Coach - Endurance, Joel holds USATF Level 2 certifications in Endurance, Combined Events, Sprint/Hurdles, Jumps, and Youth. He holds a Masters in Sport Management.
